The IE team have announced a refinement for the release date of IE8 Beta 2 which is due in August.
Unlike Beta 1 this isn't solely targeted at developers and designers. So along with that announcement is a general call to get the interwebs up to date to make sure they don't break due to IE8's new standards support. All the websites I handle are of course ready and have been for months. :-)
The BBC however can't make that claim, their news website is badly broken in the new IE8 standards mode.
It is important that IE8 is pushed hard and fast to replace IE6 and to a lesser degree 7. So we can finally have websites that don't need hacks to work on different browsers.
