Bury Lenin - I think not

There was a bit of talk a few days ago about burying Lenin or not, I've always been pretty neutral on the topic, however I've just punched in Lenin into Google News and have been surprised at the amount of Lenin bashing going on in the capitalist press. So I'm going fully over to keep Lenin where he is until the work of the people is finished. If they can get so annoyed at an 80 year old corpse then they're obviously a bit scared of what he represents....

Communism = democracy

I was having a little chat with Roodis today, for some reason the prospect of voting in our managers came about, and he snapped back saying something along the lines of "but you're a communist you don't like the idea of voting". Jeez where to start with something like that? I suppose I could sum up what the immediate aim of the communist revolution with the democractisation of the economy, that would be a good way to phrase it....

We must not forget how war was won

From the Guardian: Imagine for a moment that around half the population of Great Britain - men, women and children - died in the second world war. What kind of extraordinary trauma would this represent? How would "victory" in 1945 now be viewed, or even celebrated? Yet 27 million is the estimate of Soviet deaths by the end of the war. Actual British losses represented around 0.6% of the population; American losses were smaller, around 0....

No it's not Blair's fault...

...It's your own bloody fault. I'm referring to Ann Toward's comments to the press about the death of her husband in Iraq. "It's Tony Blair's fault. He sent all those troops out. "If he hadn't sent them out [Anthony] would still be here. He shouldn't have done it." I hate to sound really cruel, but are you completely brainless? Anthony joined the military voluntarily, anybody who joins should be prepared to die, he wasn't forced into it, we don't have conscription he joined voluntarily, if you didn't like it you should of persuaded him to leave....

Tory health crap alert

The scum bag Tories have been up to their usual tricks again lately. This time involving an individual who according to her had her NHS operation canceled seven times, only three times according to the NHS Trust. The Tories are of course using this woman as a political football - she denies it of course. From the BBC: Tory spokesman for the North West of England Chris Davenport said he had spent the day at Mrs Dixon's home because his party had "...

Tell 'em where to go Ken

Ken Livingstone is once again under attack by the right-wing press. In this case the Evening Standard and it's sister paper the Daily Mail. What's he done this time? Called a journalist who had been pestering him and trying to get some kind of rise out of him someone who behaves like a "concentration camp guard". It turns out the journalist is Jewish, well so he claims, I wouldn't be surprised if it was entirely made up just to try and get some kind of story going on....

Trouble brewing in Ukraine

Viktor Yushchenko, the opposition leader in the Ukraine has shown his total hypocrisy, throughout his campaign he was constantly singing the tune of "democracy", he lost the election - 46.61% of the vote, compared with 49.46% for Viktor Yanukovych. Now he speaks of rebellion, turning his back on democracy completely because the people refused to support him. All the talk of electoral fraud is based on the exit-polls (which were financed and organized from the US), which did show a victory for Yushchenko, of course this is completely irrelevant and unofficial....

Iraq is safer?

I was reading through some posts on a newsgroup I won't mention where it was (it was a completely OT conversation) anyway this was posted by "Lisa1174" in response to some criticism of the Bush regime by a Canadian. "Perhaps we are concerned about America FIRST and Iraq and the rest of you LAST!!!!! And, for your info, YES, Iraq is a safer place! Ask the citizens of Iraq. Ask the US Military....
